Manage interfaces in an efficient and effective way
Interfaces and technologies are multiplying ever faster in our networked world. Cloud solutions, an enormous variety of mobile devices, and shops are virtually mandatory and must become quickly available. During our Experts’ Day, we will enlighten you about the risks and opportunities of APIs. In their practice-based presentations, our specialists will address interface technologies, quality requirements, and the high need for security, all the way to planned and controlled value added projects.
We at BLUECARAT know all facets of the different areas of application for Web APIs. Whether in a B2B or in a B2C environment, mobile apps, or M2M, using WebServices, Rest or ebXML: we want to share our know-how, derived from numerous projects with the most varied specifications. and talk with you about modern API Management.
Success and competitiveness with a Web API strategy
> Speaker: Ronnie Mitra
APIs are the key to successful information exchange – whether via the Web, mobile technologies, or other media. How does API Management differ from SOA Governance? What are Web APIs, what infrastructures are involved, and what business models are supported? The presentation will also grant a glimpse into API Management and explain fundamental API design concepts.
Interface security: The good old new challenge
> Speaker: Prof. Dr. Jörg Schwenk
Security has always been an important factor in Web APIs. New diversity in technologies and application scenarios means that today this factor has increasingly come to the fore as being business critical. The presentation addresses well-known problems of http and SOAP based interfaces and explains useful countermeasures by means of typical attack scenarios. The technical scenarios range from the theft of HTTP session cookies all the way to attacks on APIs of Amazon AWS and on SAML based Web Single Sign On.
Professional B2B projects: From idea to integration
> Speaker: Uta Pollmann
Interfaces constitute the connection between at least two partners, each of which has its own staff, corporate cultures, and interests. While company internal IT projects are a significant challenge in and of themselves, the pitfalls in development projects that extend beyond corporate borders multiply exponentially. This presentation reveals that established methods such as Requirements Engineering, SLA Definition, Software Engineering, and ITIL processes should be adapted to achieve successful cross-corporate API management. This can be accomplished by merging individual disciplines into a plannable and controllable project management function. Then, all those involved will view the interface as a positive connection..
